Museum Visit
Students of Chinese have been learning about art, culture and treasures at the Hong Kong Palace Museum.
Year 7-9 students on the Kingston Chinese Programme spent time at the museum to help inspire them for an essay writing project.
During their visit, they had the opportunity to work in groups and explore the different exhibitions, setting up research questions for their group project.
The trip was an excellent opportunity for them to enrich their knowledge of Chinese culture and history. By learning about the diverse cultural traditions and practices of China, they gained a deeper appreciation for the country's rich history. Additionally, they experienced the different styles and techniques used in Chinese art, developing a sense of the aesthetics and symbolism behind these works.
The KCP provides a strong syllabus for students who require a higher level of Chinese, and prepares them for the challenges of the Diploma Programme. The museum excursion was part of a programme of trips run by the languages department to broaden and enrich Chinese studies.
We are proud of our students for taking advantage of these valuable learning experiences, which help them to develop a broader understanding of the world around them and foster a greater appreciation for cultural diversity.
